Kemble Air Show 2009 DVD
The organisers of the Kemble Air Show in Gloucestershire are building up a big reputation for their early season show. The MOD obviously thinks so too with their strong commitment of aircraft displays including Typhoon, Red Arrows, Blue Eagles (Apache and Lynx), Black Cats (Navy Lynx team) plus the BBMF and the RN Historic Flight. Part of Kemble's success has been its appeal to families who love the ‘wingwalkers' and aerobatics but it's the cavalcade of classic jets that set this airshow apart. The resident Hunter and Jet Provost were joined by Air Atlantique's Meteor and Venoms, Golden Apple's rare F86A Sabre, de Havilland Aviation's big powerful Sea Vixen and even the fatigue expired Canberra PR9 got to do a taxi run. The star though was undoubtedly the newly restored Avro Vulcan bomber – an iconic sight and penetrating sound – that had everyone spellbound. Delta's Black Arrows liveried Hunter closed the show flying with the Rolls Royce Spitfire in dramatic skies that had accompanied most of the event and make this DVD with its stereo location sound an audio visual treat.
